Carl Anthan Larson, 83, Weippe
     
Carl Larson, son of early Weippe Prairie pioneers Anthan Carl (Tony) and Ruby Moon Larson, went on to his heavenly home thursday, June 20, 2013, at the age of 83. Carl was born November 12, 1929, in Weippe. As a young man, he worked alongside his father, Tony, and brother Louis on the family ranch near Weippe. Carl graduated from Weippe High School and went to work in various occupations throughout his life: truck driver, logger, cattleman, rancher, carpenter, welder and night watchman. His various jobs carried him from Idaho to California, Nevada, Wyoming and parts in between.
     
He married Beth Grim and from this union, his sons Richard and Douglas were born. That marriage ended in divorce. He married Betty Schultz; she died in 1992.
     
Carl was particularly proud of the disignation of Century Farm for his parents' ranch, having spent some of his later years helping his mother run the ranch. Carl was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Louie; and his son, Douglas.
      Carl attended the First Baptist Church in Orofino.
      Survivors include his son, Rick, of Clarkston; two grandsons, Anthan and Tyler; and nephews John Larson and Bryon Larson.
     
A graveside memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. July 13 at the Weippe Cemetery with the Rev. Hale Anderson officiating.
